I love the restaurant hugely. I had dinner there Monday night, following lunch at the Savoy on Saturday and I have to say that’s more my kind of place. The restaurant was busy, which I like, and the waiters were cheerful and spot on with their service. The Prosecco was delicious, as was the silky smooth tapenade. Starters of panzanella salad and melanzane were full of flavour and the lamb main I had was as good as any. The whole meal was rounded off with lemoncello and a cheeky slice of tiramisu. Totally gorgeous food, very friendly service and the sort of place most restaurants can only aspire to be. Go there.

If you can't be in Tuscany, visit the World's End of Kings Road and eat at La Famiglia. I have not had a better beefsteak fiorentina or a bowl of ribolita in Florence! Fresh, seasonal ingredients, organic selections, mozzarella & tomatoes just off the plane from Italy, make eating here the next best thing to being in Italy.

White coated waiters and white tiled walls, a garden for the rare sunny lunch or balmy summer evening, and a smattering of celebrities make this a great choice. the autumn & winter menu of mushrooms and truffles is wonderful. The focus is on the food, no frills, no parsley garnish, just real Tuscan food. The fish is fresh and perfectly cooked. if you love high profile Italian wines you can drink them here at a fair price. Enough said.
