Your Reviews of Fanny Trollope's

I booked Fanny's for a group of friends, as I’ve been there before I knew they wouldn't be disappointed. I was right. The food was amazing we all cleared our plates, the service was great, not too much in your face and the company was fabulous. My friends vowed to book it for their partners to try. It won’t be the last Fanny's has seen of them. I wish Gary who used to be the chef but now runs it, the very best of luck for the future.

After reading very good reviews I have to confess I was quite excited to be eating at Fanny’s. One of the top ten restaurants in Glasgow wrote one review. The restaurant itself is quite small, but comfortable enough and accommodating. The only problem is that you could drive past it. The BYOB policy reduced the overall cost, but three courses came to around £30. I found the food a little uninspiring, though the melon and Parma ham were perfectly good. The roast belly of pork was very nice, but served with a rather plain mashed potato and not much else. The sticky toffee pudding to finish was again pleasant enough, but hardly earth shattering. I found the service a little overbearing. The waitress asked if we were enjoying it, then the chef, then the manager, and then we were passed a book to write just how great everything was. All perfectly acceptable if a little overpriced, with certain overconfidence by staff about how good the whole experience was. Is this one of the top ten restaurants in Glasgow? I hope not.
