Fat Cat Solihull, The Description

The Fat Cat is an Anglo-French restaurant offering quality food at reasonable prices, great care is taken in sourcing good quality ingredients from local producers, wherever possible, to provide food that also reflects the use of seasonal items. As a result the menu is regularly changed and updated.

They present traditional dishes with a modern twist, like duck rillettes, plum chutney, French bread or calamari, aioli and leaves to start, ensuring you can really taste the quality of the ingredients in every meal.

Carnivores will rejoice in their braised Cornish lamb shank, pea and mint risotto, jus or confit belly of Jimmy Butlers free range pork, celeriac puree, creamed Savoy cabbage, but fish lovers are not neglected either as they have daily specials on the board for them plus wonderful organic salmon fishcakes with pea puree and a tomato buerre blanc.

Complementing the food is an extensive wine list with over forty quality wines and champagnes, all sourced from a specialist vintner.

At lunchtime there is a choice of a light-bite menu for a quick meal, salads or even a full three course menu. Whilst in the evening, there is a more extensive menu, including four to six specials that change daily, plus vegetarians are always catered for. On Sundays, they serve a traditional lunch with all the trimmings from noon right through to 5 pm.

Your Reviews of Fat Cat Solihull, The

Rachael Stewart (14 July 2009)

I went there for lunch yesterday - absolutely fantastic, the food was excellent, and the service was extremely good. Called in last Christmas just for drinks, they had stopped serving food but put the fire on for us, got us comfortable chairs, and even complimentary chocolates - will definitely be going back, my 22-year-old daughter loved it too.

John O'Shea (8 July 2009)

Excellent, whilst visiting the NEC in February 09 we found this restaurant by accident, we were so impressed that we returned again the following night and were equally impressed. I visited Birmingham again in the last couple of weeks and again we ended up eating there twice. I met a couple on the first night from the US and they came back on the second night. The quality of the food is excellent, using excellent ingredients, the choice of courses is varied and exciting, and the standard is amongst the best restaurants anywhere.
