FATleo Description

fatleo brighton restaurant optFATleo, fast becoming one of Brighton's most popular Italian restaurants, is the latest creation from those wonderful people who so successfully brought you Donatello and Pinnochio in Brighton; both hugely popular places.

Apart from the fact that the place is fun and lively, the food is freshly prepared and of excellent quality, whilst also offering outstandingly good value for money. Two courses are only £5.95 whilst a further course drives the cost up to £7.95 only, this offer is available at both lunch and dinner, but if you include either a fish or meat dish that is an extra £2, and after 6.30 pm on Saturday, both cost an extra £2 per head, still extremely reasonably priced.

The menu includes starters of melanzane rotolo - thinly sliced sautéed aubergine layered with tomato sauce and fontana cheese topped with mozzarella cheese - and fried baby calamari served with a tartar sauce, followed by a wide choice of pasta like tagliatelle al salmone e vodka, ribbons of pasta with a smoked salmon, cream, tomato and vodka sauce or pizzas such as stefano, with tomato, mozzarello cheese, prawns and rocket, while main courses include monkfish fillets cooked in an olive oil, garlic, tomato, white wine, and parsley sauce served with sauté potatoes or fried breast of chicken coated in parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs served with spaghetti pomodoro.

Leave room for some classic desserts: homemade tiramisu; chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate sauce and whipped cream; FATleo rhubarb bread and butter pudding or a range of ice creams and sorbets.

Your Reviews of FATleo

W. Whatman (6 December 2008)

My sister and I were very disappointed with our visit to FATleo today. We arrived early to beat the busy lunch hour and gave our orders for lunch. We had to wait forty minutes for it to be served. Everyone was arriving after us and food was being served to them. We were told by the management that there was a mix up in the kitchen, even though when we had ordered there were only about six people in the restaurant.

Ruby (22 July 2007)

The last time I ate at Fatleo, both mine and my friend's cutlery was filthy, as were the next two sets brought out! It is so noisy you can't hear yourself think, with a stone floor and metal chairs which help carry the noise all around the restaurant. Cheap, but not so cheerful. You're better off paying another £3 or £4 and enjoying yourselves somewhere else.
