felicini - Didsbury Description

The Felicini chain of Italian restaurants opened its doors in northern England in 2003, and grew to become known for serving good quality modern Italian cuisine through a choice of menus all carrying the Felicini signature style of 'traditional classic with a distinctive modern twist'.

The contemporary havens are cut away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life with contemporary interiors incorporating dark wood, leather and mirrors. Each branch has a special style of its own, from being perfect pit stops for lunch, and favourite haunts of students, to places where you could enjoy a latte and watch the world go by.

The menus offers a range of tasty dishes such as starters of piatto grande di antipasto loaded with marinated olives and baby mozzarella, char-grilled chorizo, mixed bruschetta with prosciutto, tomato and basil and dips of hummus and spiced aubergine with garlic and cumin baked flatbread. Signature main courses consist of pan-fried sea bass fillet, slow-roasted confit duck leg, pizza and pasta, and delectable desserts like giant profiteroles.

Your Reviews of felicini - Didsbury

Caroline (5 October 2008)

We went there for lunch on a Sunday. The Italian bread with balsamic was nice for starters; I ordered the special of porcini mushroom risotto for my main course. To say it was under seasoned is an understatement. The service was great; the staff were friendly, attentive, and pleasant, so I felt a bit shy about complaining - the English disease. I would go again, but I would not order the same dish, and even if I did, I would really complain this time if it was not seasoned.

Ange (9 July 2007)

We were looking forward to a meal to celebrate our daughter's birthday. A table had been booked the week previous. Upon arrival, the five of us were shown a tiny round table in the bar area which was less than satisfactory. We were so crushed that one of us could not move the chair one inch. A party of Chinese/ Japanese arrived and were shown to the next table, stopping us from moving at all. We called the manager but he said very negatively it was all he had available. There was no mention of the seating arrangements at the time of booking. We got up and left, a lovely evening and celebration ruined. Make sure just where you are seated when you book.

It can't be every restaurant that can claim to have had an elephant as one of the star attractions at its opening, but Zouk Manchester did. Alright, so it was a baby elephant and it was on the stage ...
