Ffiona Reid-Owen has her little fiefdom - or should it be ffiefdom in her case? - in Kensington Church Street, where she presides and occasionally advises you on what you should be choosing from the highly eclectic menu.

It is a delightfully cosy venue, whilst 'la patronne' makes sure that the whole experience is one that you will never forget. Fabric covered walls, sheets of music scores lining the ceiling, wooden tables and cushioned chairs, candle light, and soft music make the ambiance warm and intimate.

The food is a touch rustic in style, the quality, allied to the sensible prices, ensures that it is a totally pleasurable event. So expect to find Ffiona's duck pâté with Madeira, Cumberland sausages with bubble and squeak and onion gravy, and butterfish with chilli, coriander and sweet red onions. A lemon tart or bread and butter pudding helps bring the meal to an end.
