With the sort of publicity that Fifteen has received, it is no wonder that the place is packed to the roof. It is the brainchild of Jamie Oliver and he is to be commended over this project. In 2002, he took fifteen unemployed youngsters and turned them into chefs - with every part of the painful process exposed to the world on TV - and sunk his own money into the venture. Since then the Jamie Oliver Foundation has continued to take on new apprentices every year with profits from the Fifteen restaurant going straight back into the charity.

As might be expected from Jamie, the menu concentrates on simplicity with good quality, seasonal ingredients and strong flavours. The menu is Italian-inspired but often with a British twist or using locally sourced ingredients, such as potato gnocchi with a rich ragù of Cumbrian lamb and pork, oregano and Fontodi olive oil.

Fifteen London offers a laid back, rustic Trattoria on the ground floor, open for breakfast through to dinner, and a more formal dining room downstairs.
