Flora Tearooms

Dunwich Beach, Dunwich, IP17 3EN

This sleepy, charming village with a population of one-hundred-twenty people was, during the medieval period, the biggest commercial centre in England, rivalling, many accounts state, the stature of London. However, storms and tides destroyed the harbour which was the source of the region's wealth, leaving behind a quiet, almost unnoticeable entity. A visit to the museum will enlighten tourists on the rich history of the place. The beautiful coastline calls out to those driving by to stop and enjoy the view. It is in this enchanting setting that Flora Tearooms is situated. The fairly large diner can accommodate a good number of guests in the dining rooms. The kitchen is famous for the fish and chips it serves.

REVIEWS OF Flora Tearooms

Candace Pfau (10 January 2012)

It was only by accident we wandered into Dunwich and Flora Tearooms. A man in Norwich recommended seeing the town on our way back to Gatwick airport. After walking the beach we saw the fish restaurant. The Plaice and chips are the best I have ever eaten anywhere in the world. Quick service. All the food is fresh. so fresh and delicious. Maybe it's that North Sea air but I think it's just a great place to eat.

What a find. This is the first year I have discovered Dunwich beach and to date have visited approx 8 times in 4 months. The best find apart from the wonderful walks is 'the beach cafe' Flora Tearooms. The best fish and chips I have ever tasted. Clean, the most efficient service and everything scrumptious, particularly the 50s style ice cream sundaes complete with decorations. Can't recommend it highly enough.
