Flying Pizza, The Description
Flying Pizza has become a Leeds institution as it was probably the first casual, quality restaurant, as they state, "Customers quickly become our friends and children are always welcome. We are happy to say that some of the children we served when we started are the adults we serve today."
Their aim today is the same as it has always been, to provide excellent Italian cuisine, traditionally prepared and served by friendly, efficient staff. You will find that there will always be a warm welcome at The Flying Pizza.
Dishes run from pizza and pasta, like pizza frutti di mare - a northern Italian pizza with sea food on a bed of tomato, garlic and oregano to tagliolini al salmone - home made egg noodles with chopped smoked salmon in a creamy sauce.
More ambitious choices could include saltimbocca alla romana, a delicious typical Roman dish, sliced veal with ham, cooked in white wine and sage; Dutch calf's liver fried in butter and sage or charcoal grilled or fillet of beef stroganoff, small slices of fillet sautéed in a red wine, mushrooms and cream sauce served with rice.
No wonder it is always busy.
Your Reviews of Flying Pizza, The
Sandra (3 February 2008)
I have been to Flying Pizza on many occasions and have always enjoyed the food and ambience. However, I was very disappointed the last time - there is no waiting area and people coming in and out knocked over my children repeatedly. The service was slow and the menu has limited vegetarian starters.
When our food eventually arrived, it was bland and the main courses portions were much too small. There were seven of us accommodated on two small tables. It was not an enjoyable evening and a very expensive one at that.

I have been coming to the Flying Pizza for many, many years and I can honestly say it really takes some beating. The place is just alive, everyone is friendly, the food is to die for and I have yet to have a bad meal.
I have celebrated most of my birthdays there (am now 55) and have taken a lot of friends here; what more can I say apart from 5 star, keep it up and we will keep coming back for more.
