Food for Thought Restaurant
4 Town Quay, Fowey, PL23 1AT
Set in a converted customs house, on the quay, there are now much better things astir in the premises. Martin and Caroline Billingsley have for over twenty years delighted a discerning public with their modern seafood cuisine. Those who wish for their meat are by no means neglected but make no mistake about it this is primarily a seafood restaurant. The wine list rises to the occasion and there is a house selection of French wines from £9.75.Modern European

REVIEWS OF Food for Thought Restaurant
Maria Griffin (22 August 2007)
I am just back from Fowey in Cornwall - what a beautiful place that was and we had eaten at Food for Thought twice in two days. The food was wonderful and the service was great. It was true, the Maitre’d tried to push starters, vegetable side dishes and desserts on us, but we laughed it off and had a running joke with him about how much we could actually eat. For dinner, I had the mixed fish dish, and the amount and variety of fish was extensive and tasty. My mate had the Cornish beef fillet and declared it the best ever. We were not offered the set menu but asked for it as it was on display outside the restaurant. We returned for lunch the following day and I had seafood linguine and my mate had salmon fish cakes were both delicious. It was not a cheap restaurant but was reasonably priced given the quality of the food and the excellent service. We also had dinner at Sam’s Other Place and the food and service was very good there too.

I would thoroughly recommend Food For Thought Restaurant. My partner took me there for my birthday last year and I have to admit, we were a bit worried as to what exactly the restaurant was like; the name did not conjure up images of a nice restaurant, more like a cafe! However, we were extremely pleased when we arrived and saw the location and inside. Although my partner then started to panic about cost - after seeing a picture of Tony Blair taken there – he needn't have panicked, the cost was very reasonable for the high quality food and service.
The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. The waiter was lovely and really made such an effort.
This has to be my favourite place to go on that special night out!
