Fox and Goose Inn Description
The Fox and Goose Inn is a charming country pub in the midst of the pretty village of Fressingfield and it provides comfortable accommodation as well as delicious food to sustain you for the duration of your stay. Various elements in the decor such as the oak beams reveal the historic value of the inn which dates back to the 16th century. The atmosphere is cosy and intimate and is perfect for an intimate lunch or a quiet evening with someone special.
The 2 AA rosette awarded restaurant also has a mention in the revered Michelin guide for its eclectic cuisine that is a cut above the ordinary. Starters could include seared tuna with sweet and sour peppers, crushed apples and a black olive puree followed by lemon sole fillets cooked in herb and potato pancakes, with tomato confit, potato tuiles, finished with a caper and raisin dressing. Finally, there's chocolate mousse with hazelnut cake to end and a fabulous wine list at the Fox and Goose complements the meal perfectly.

We have eaten several times at Fox and Goose Inn and it just gets better every time. The new decor is bright and modern without losing the intrinsic character of the wonderful old building. The food is so imaginative; every course is a delight with clean flavours and textures. It's reasonably priced and the staff are attentive and service is swift.

The menu was clever, varied and totally unusual and the vegetarian food was equally wonderful. The meal was superbly balanced with imaginative dishes. Delicious 'taster' extras, pre-starter soup, grenadine based fruit explosion, hand made confections with coffee and desserts were delightful. The staff were relaxed, efficient, attentive and thoughtfully reflected our mood. The cost was a surprise - we expected at least £30 more for the four of us. This was a fortunate discovery.
