Frankie & Benny's New York Italian Restaurant & Bar - Bristol Description
Frankie and Benny's combine the best of classic American and Italian in both style and cuisine. They specialise in home style cooking 'just like Mamma used to make it'. This is a great place to take the entire family and represents excellent value for money. The restaurant and bar is suitable for any occasion, whether it's a leisurely lunch, a family meal or a fantastic evening with friends - they make sure you have a great time.
Walking into the restaurant is like stepping back into 1950s New York, from the clatter and chatter of the open kitchen to the bottle lined bar. Walls with black and white family photographs showing life in Brooklyn's "Little Italy" surround cosy booth seating and tables. Combined with the classic music of the fifties, a mix of American swing and beat, they definitely provide a fun and friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy.
Frankie and Benny's offers a range of succulent starters, mouth watering meals and delicious desserts. Favourites include chargrilled burgers, pizzas, pastas and house specialities such as chicken parmigiana, risotto and T-bone steak. The bar serves a wide range of beers, wines, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks.
Their sharing platters with options of chicken, skins, ribs and wings and a combination are a great way to start your meal if you are dining in a group. The pastas, calzone and pizzas are attractive and all made freshly on order. An interesting dish on the menu is a breakfast pizza with generous amounts of pork and herb sausage, ham, sautéed mushrooms and a whole egg cracked into the centre before baking. They also serve a variety of sandwiches and burgers throughout the day.
For children up to the age of ten, an all-inclusive menu featuring Frankie and Benny's very own Gangster Mice is available! For just £3.95, your child can choose from a great selection of main courses, desserts and soft drinks. As an added treat, they'll also receive a kid's pack full of activities and stackable crayons to entertain them whilst you eat.
Enjoy an American Italian meal at Frankie and Benny's with freshly prepared food and warm hospitality that makes you feel right at home.

Lynne (30 April 2008)
I visited this place with my family about a month ago. It was supposed to be a nice night out together but we were disappointed. My brother ordered one of the larger pizzas and it was overdone on top. It tasted burnt so he informed the waitress and she took it away. The manager then came over and he showed no empathy. A replacement was brought out and this time it was underdone. My brother ended up not eating that either, it was sent back and he had nothing. We finished our meals and paid leaving the waitress a tip. What really upset me was that my mum had saved up to take the family out as a treat. I think my brother's complaint was totally justified but the manager could have been more customer oriented.

On my son’s birthday he wanted to me to take him to F&B’s and as we had been there a couple of times before and had a good meal in a great atmosphere I thought it would be a great idea.
Our order was taken but when the food came back it was a major disappointment, The spaghetti was swimming in water, I sent this back and asked if they could drain it off the waitress brought it back with a bit more spaghetti on it and more water, I couldn't eat it. My son had the same but he was so hungry he managed to eat.
The chicken burger one of his friends ordered was dry, the bun was stale but the bottom of the bun fell apart as it had soaked up so much grease. The burger another of his friends ordered was again dry and the bun stale, they both left theirs, My partner who is diabetic had a 10" pizza he ate it all but as the pizza was more like a pancake he had to eat again when we got home.
It ruined my son’s birthday and I had to pay £50 for food nobody could eat! The one good thing about the place was the waiting staff were really polite. All this took place at Hengrove on the 17th March.
