Frankie & Benny's New York Italian Restaurant & Bar - Nottingham Description

Frankie and Benny's combine the best of classic American and Italian in both style and cuisine. They specialise in home style cooking 'just like Mamma used to make it'. This is a great place to take the entire family and represents excellent value for money. The restaurant and bar is suitable for any occasion, whether it's a leisurely lunch, a family meal or a fantastic evening with friends - they make sure you have a great time.

Walking into the restaurant is like stepping back into 1950s New York, from the clatter and chatter of the open kitchen to the bottle lined bar. Walls with black and white family photographs showing life in Brooklyn's "Little Italy" surround cosy booth seating and tables. Combined with the classic music of the fifties, a mix of American swing and beat, they definitely provide a fun and friendly atmosphere for all to enjoy.

Frankie and Benny's offers a range of succulent starters, mouth watering meals and delicious desserts. Favourites include chargrilled burgers, pizzas, pastas and house specialities such as chicken parmigiana, risotto and T-bone steak. The bar serves a wide range of beers, wines, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks.

Their sharing platters with options of chicken, skins, ribs and wings and a combination are a great way to start your meal if you are dining in a group. The pastas, calzone and pizzas are attractive and all made freshly on order. An interesting dish on the menu is a breakfast pizza with generous amounts of pork and herb sausage, ham, sautéed mushrooms and a whole egg cracked into the centre before baking. They also serve a variety of sandwiches and burgers throughout the day.

For children up to the age of ten, an all-inclusive menu featuring Frankie and Benny's very own Gangster Mice is available! For just £3.95, your child can choose from a great selection of main courses, desserts and soft drinks. As an added treat, they'll also receive a kid's pack full of activities and stackable crayons to entertain them whilst you eat.

Enjoy an American Italian meal at Frankie and Benny's with freshly prepared food and warm hospitality that makes you feel right at home.

Your Reviews of Frankie & Benny's New York Italian Restaurant & Bar - Nottingham

Sue (23 March 2008)

Slow service, small portions and cold food made the whole experience at Frankie and Benny's very disappointing. I also found it pricey.

Michael Burden (5 May 2005)

We made our first ever visit to any Frankie and Benny on 1 May 2005, but it will be our last, because this was the most disappointing restaurant we have visited in a long time. The spaghetti bolognaise was only a tiny portion of rather plain and insipid spaghetti in a watery reddish liquid - certainly not heaped with beef or ragu sauce as claimed by the menu. We asked for that essential accompaniment - parmesan cheese - but were told that they had run out. Their steak ciabatta sandwich, accompanied by a portion of undercooked anaemic chips and two slices of tomato, was just two pieces of dry bread containing a small piece of tough and gristly steak, a tiny piece of dead lettuce and a slice of red onion with no sign of the mozzarella cheese, pesto mayo, etc listed on the menu. (The onion was fine). F&B's ambience and menu indicates a much more stylish version of the roadside chain OK Diner, which we often visit and rate highly. However on this evidence their meals are certainly vastly inferior to what is available at the OK Diner. PS - One redeeming note at least for F&B! Our four year old son enjoyed his pizza and was very amused by the colouring book and crayons the waitress gave him.
