Freemason's Country Inn

8 Vicarage Fold, Wiswell, Whalley, BB7 9DF

An oasis in the rural village of Wiswell, Freemason's Country Inn has evolved into a stylish and inviting pub under the new owners as Head Chef Patron Steven Smith is placed behind the stoves. With numerous rooms to be seated in, a relaxed and elegant décor exuding warmth runs throughout the inn. Flag floors, roaring log fires, walls muted in heritage colours, antique rugs, rustic oak staircase and period furniture, paintings and prints is what you might expect - and get. Passionate about the British natural larder, the kitchen focuses on using quality seasonal and local ingredients that are put to best use with excellent executions. Think well presented poached chicken breast and kiev, potato puree, wild mushrooms and thyme or cod butter cooked in mushy peas, salsify fritters and served with warm tartare sauce.

REVIEWS OF Freemason's Country Inn

Rachel (29 October 2009)

When you eventually find the pub in this small village you will not be disappointed. I have been there twice in less than a week and I just to go back for the chicken liver parfait. It has a small but perfect menu, great staff, and an amazing wine list. I just need to get a taxi service running for the winter to be able to tuck up in front of the fires with a few drams!
