Fuchsia Restaurant & Bar
1st Floor Unit C, Nelson House, Nelson Street, Bristol, BS1 2JT
Here is a recently opened experience well calculated to make the burgers of Bristol sit up. The concept is a restaurant and VIP bar. Nothing much new there you say, but wait until you encounter their fine oriental dining, as different from Flung Dungs Diner as Monday to Saturday. There's an attractive dim sum menu but it's the a la carte you should steer towards for the full experience. Though it is worth mentioning that their dim sum are rated so highly that they are even supplying them to other restaurants as far away as London and Plymouth, however, for the freshest made, obviously Shanghai Nights is the place! Most of the standard oriental offerings are there but what makes it exciting is the range of dishes that are new to many of us.Here is a recently opened experience well calculated to make the burgers of Bristol sit up. Most of the standard oriental offerings are there but what makes it exciting is the range of dishes that are new to many of us. Try the deep fried eel with honey and black pepper, or the braised chicken, with chestnut and dried shitake claypot. What is described as the seriously sexy lounge bar may serve as a haven before or after the meal but it certainly will not be long enough to let you work your way through the impressive cocktails list. For real kicks try the Nashi Collins.

REVIEWS OF Fuchsia Restaurant & Bar
Susan Dean (2 July 2009)
What a fabulous restaurant! The food was prepared to order, red hot and beautifully presented. You could order as many dishes as you could eat. The prawn toast was to die for. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. I would highly recommend Shanghai Nights. Excellent value for money.

I have to say something in response to the other completely incorrect and worthless reviews; because they are so wide off the mark, it's untrue. The restaurant is the most contemporary and stylish Chinese in Bristol, and the ‘buffet-eat what you like’ menu is all freshly cooked and brought to your table when ordered - a complete contrast to most eat-until-you're-sick restaurants, where you go up and dollop some over MSG'ed chewy meat dish on a plate. How often the crispy shredded chilli beef is actually crispy? Well it is here! There are a reasonable number of Chinese people there always, which speaks for itself. Many colleagues and friends have been there; all of whom highly recommend it. Cheers!
