Fung Shing Restaurant
15 Lisle Street, London, WC2H 7BE
Fung Shing is one of Chinatown's less predictable restaurants and as such has grown considerably over the years as its reputation has spread. The décor is warm and inviting, and miles away from the kitschy appeal that most of us are used to, done up in delicate pastel colours with wood panelling and soft lighting, the atmosphere is relaxing and helps one feel at ease. While all the favourites appear on the menu there's also plenty more for the adventurous diner. Dishes of particular note include fried quail with chilli and garlic or barbecue sauce, braised eel with roasted belly pork in hot pot, stuffed duck with mashed yam, and steamed bean curd with crab meat sauce. There are also chef's special dishes that are remarkable, a braised abalone with sea cucumber, lobster with noodles and venison marinated in Oolong tea.Fung Shing is one of Chinatown's less predictable restaurants and as such has grown considerably over the years as its reputation has spread.
