A visit to Gallagher gives one a chance to indulge in a mug of cold beer, a good burger and fries with the television ranting endlessly in the background, but that was in 1985, when they started as a small neighborhood tavern in Mesa. Gallagher's famous slow roasted wings tossed in your choice of sauce is always is great way to start, or even stuffed spuds like spinach cheese, chili baker, chicken queso and veggie. Specialties range from baby back or St. Louis ribs and smoked meat platter to grilled tilapia and San Antone chicken, grilled and basted with a BBQ sauce, topped with diced bacon, tomato, melted Monterey Jack cheese and green onions. Side orders are cheerfully listed as sidewinders and there are red skinned mashed potatoes with gravy, corn on the cob and homemade mac and cheese on the carte.
