Situated in a regency-style town house that has undergone a major refurbishment to meet the needs of fine dining, Gauthier Soho recently opened doors at Romilly Street. The two dining rooms are done up in light hues, with elegantly set white clothed tables, an exposed brick fireplace encased in an impressive mantelpiece, and Georgian windows that provide a light and airy feel to the rooms. Freshness and care, as the case with French cuisine, distinguish the cooking and the prolific use of seasonal, local British vegetables helps maintain the perfect balance between health and taste. A few dishes worth mentioning include slow roasted leg of Welsh lamb with turnips, and almond, steamed fillet of halibut and parsley crust with fondant leek and pickled ginger and green asparagus and lovage with crispy Serrano ham and jus.
