George & Dragon Description

Another of those delightful and timeless inns along the South Downs where it is possible to sit down and enjoy good, honest food, well-kept beer, a decent choice of wine and, if you want it, company which is fundamentally different from the thrusting, over-important, self-opinionated froth that seems to grow at an alarming rate in the big world beyond.

The menu clearly benefits from a Gallic influence and the quality of the service leans in the same direction - friendly and effective. Don't be alarmed by the 'no-through road' signs - just keep going. House wine from £12.50.

Fixed Dinner

  • £19.95 (2 courses) to £26.95 (3 courses)

Your Reviews of George & Dragon

Robert Walker (27 July 2009)

This is a superb gastropub in a lovely village. The food is to die for and certainly the best that we have ever had at a pub. In fact, it was so good that we went there three nights on the trot! The landlord and his wife are charming and most welcoming. The staff are friendly and attentive, the ambience is splendid and we long to go again when next in West Sussex.

Michelle (4 August 2007)

The food was excellent at the restaurant, first class all-round. They had a brilliant menu, and the chocolate panacotte was to die for.
