George's Steak Pit has been around from a long time and since 1950 they have been serving juicy steaks and other delicious fare to the residents of Sheffield. Run by George and Vangie Vafinis, this restaurant was testimony to their hard work and passion for good, honest American cooking and their hard work paid off when their son took over in 1984. Suffice to say that nothing fundamental has changed and those who loved visiting George's for their tasty food have been delighted that nothing has changed.

The famous open pit is responsible for the fantastic freshly cut steaks, chicken and fish, and the hickory smoke adds immense flavor. Consider the appetizers of fried crab claws, French onion soup or the Greek salad; perfect to begin the meal you might say, and for later, there's Alaskan king crab leg, steamed and split or the fillet of baby red snapper, broiled or blackened. Of course, it's the steaks that attract all the glory, T-bone, prime rib or rib eye.
