Over priced food that is incredibly below par. General cleanliness was not acceptable and service was also very below average.

We have eaten at the Glas Fryn for years and in general it’s been pretty good, sometimes exceptional. Recently it’s really taken a turn for the worst in terms of food. The prices remain the same, but the quality of the finished meals is just not anywhere near what it was. Six of us ate there last night and every one of us said their food was average and not worth the price. We are not foodie snobs by any means; we have enjoyed the pub’s previous inventive menu and use of local produce. It's still sounds similar on the menu, but in practice the dishes lack any finesse. In the feta and tomato salad, the dressing, liberally applied was out of the bottle, 99p sweet chilli sauce. This made the whole salad overly sweet and masked the flavours of the other ingredients, although it had to be said the cheese was sourced very economically and lacked flavour. Tomato risotto cakes and salad was well presented, but overall a bland offering with a soapy flavour. I got the overall impression that the pub, under new ownership, has reviewed the ingredients bill and chief costs on a spreadsheet, and reduced the cost of both. The food had that 'just out of catering college' style to it, and for £10-£14 a main, I expect to have something on my plate a little better than I would knock up from stock ingredients on Tuesday night at home.
