Glasshouse Restaurant, The Description
The Glasshouse exudes a kind of restrained class typical of fine dining restaurants where the focus is equally divided between providing excellent fare and ensuring a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. For nearly a decade, this restaurant has been treating its patrons to some delicious French cuisine that also has interesting influences drawn from Spain and Italy.
A typical menu brings together rustic and refined elements and could include dishes such as starters of warm salad of wood pigeon with balsamic vinegar, deep fried truffled egg followed by an invigorating main course of venison and chanterelle hot pot with galette potato, crushed carrot and swede. Fish lovers can try the roast sea bass with butternut squash broth.
For dessert, you could indulge in homemade vanilla yoghurt with honeycomb and chocolate pearls. The international wine list covers the old and new world with aplomb offering reasonably priced alongside exclusive wines such as the Chateau Petrus '94.

This place could be renamed Classhouse and be awarded straight A’s in all departments. Over 7 years ago we discovered it before it's first Michelin star attainment and its top in the trio for me. To be fair to Chez Bruce I have only eaten there once and if it were geographically more accessible then my opinion may differ, as they too have a dedicated following. Even with a plethora of good eateries surrounding me in the Thames Valley I still yearn to venture to the edge of the metropolis just to go here. We’ve had a couple of tortuous journeys, have arrived late, early and not at all; but undeterred, last night we made it on time to be greeted warmly and to experience yet another display of passion in all they do. If you’re passionate about food n’ wine, enjoy unwinding in a quietly bustling atmosphere in low-key contemporary surroundings, and like to be served vitally good modern fare by a friendly and generally pro’ team, then do pop along. Take a look at their sample menu on line and I'd defy anyone not to be tempted. This place has consistently ‘done it’ for us.

I love this restaurant, I have only ever been for lunch but it is fabulous. The food and drinks are of superior quality at fair prices. The restaurant itself is light and airy, someone was smoking at the table next to us and I couldn't even smell it, wonderful. I love the selection on the menu, I tried rabbit for the first time, which I didn't think I'd like, but I really enjoyed it. A great restaurant, and lovely staff too.
