Glasshouse, The Description
This beautifully converted Georgian town house, formerly an antique shop, overlooks Worcester Cathedral and has been transformed to give a clever well blended mix of traditional elegance and contemporary edge design, to make the most fabulous venue for any kind of occasion.
The Glasshouse is a welcoming, comfortable and stylish Bar Brasserie offering a menu of familiar dishes served in a simple style and skilfully prepared with a solid appreciation for fresh ingredients. This coupled with warm, yet unobtrusive service from confident, well trained and knowledgeable staff.
In addition to the restaurant, with beautiful views of Worcester Cathedral, there is also an intimate bar and sun-soaked terrace where guests could enjoy al fresco pleasures. The all glass first floor dining area known as 'The Glass Box' is ideal for intimate parties of up to 16 diners.
With the menu changing quarterly to fit in the seasons, the variety of food is always exciting and inspiring. Starters like beetroot cured salmon with horseradish crème fraîche and lemon; terrine of ham hock with pineapple chutney, fried quails eggs and crusty bread, and potato and salt cod croquettes with sauce gribiche and confit lemon, and main courses such as breast of duck with potato fondant, honey root vegetables and marjoram jus; aromatic spicy pork belly with ginger and soy and stir-fried pak choi, and braised blade of beef with horseradish potato, salsify, caramelised onions, red wine sauce ensure all tastes are satisfied.
There is also a specials menu, and some interesting dessert delights such as hot chocolate fondant with honeycomb ice cream and glazed lemon tart with raspberry coulis and raspberries.
The drinks list covers plenty of territory with fifteen wines available by the glass, carafe and bottle, and there is a lovely rich Ruinart Dom Ruinart bubbly from one of the oldest champagne houses in the world. The short cocktail carte does not disappoint either with Glasshouse Fizz leading the way, blending in flavours of Beefeater gin, fresh lemon and apple juice and elderflower cordial topped with champagne.
The Glasshouse is an everyday place that is not expensive or exclusive and their Website will keep you up to date with menu changes and special occasions as Glasshouse confirms its grip on the citizens of Worcester and beyond.

I have just been to the Glasshouse for a works Christmas do and what a great night we had. The new look place with the bigger bar downstairs is just great for pre-dinner drinks. The staff were chatty, smiling and helpful, and the food was fantastic. What the chef has done to get the blade of beef so tender I will never know. It is a great restaurant and one we will definitely re-visit. The place is most definitely on the up after some difficult times.

We had the privilege of eating at The Glasshouse on Friday, firstly the setting couldn't be more perfect with stunning panoramic views over the beautiful city of Worcester and a vibrant dining room atmosphere to boot. I've had the honour of eating at some fantastic restaurants and let me tell you The Glasshouse is up there with them - I literally couldn’t choose between the excellent courses on offer. I started with the pigeon pudding and scallops and they are two of the best dishes I've ever tasted. My partner had an onion and Parmesan soup which I'd have gladly eaten all of too if it weren't for us having to pass our starters between our party for all to sample - yes the food really is that good! For main course I had a beautiful rib eye steak with triple cooked chips, followed by a chocolate pudding with orange biscotti. All in all our party had an absolutely wonderful evening with sublime food throughout - definitely worth the one hour drive for us and we will most certainly be back for more.
