Gourmet Kama

We arranged for a large group of 18 or so to have dinner at Gourmet Kama. We had a variety of dishes, our menu was selected in advance, served family style and everyone raved about the quality of the food. There was so much left over that they provided takeaway containers. The service was very good and they were so accommodating. Separate checks were provided for each couple and the staff kept track of who ordered what drinks by their nametags - completely unexpected and much appreciated. If I understood correctly, the restaurant is not run by professional restaurateurs but by ‘food lovers’ who also have other enterprises. They will also arrange for private dinners with focuses on other foods. For example, one of our guests arranged for a Cajun dinner celebrating a 20th anniversary at his company. They also have Nigerian food on Sunday nights, which we have not yet tried. Definitely on our short list of Aberdeen restaurants to which we plan to return.

We first went there on a recommendation when we asked where we could get good Indian food in Aberdeen. We have tried a lot of places, and this is unlike any other. Their buffet is the best deal in town. The food is very fresh as they grind their own spices, and different from any other Indian restaurant we know. At eight pounds a person, it is hard to get a better deal.
