Grafton House Restaurant and Bar Description

The popularity of this attractive bar and restaurant is testament to the fact that it is a much loved part of the lovely village-like atmosphere of Clapham Old Town. The comfortable interior of Grafton House, together with the delightfully spacious and chic lounge bar, relaxing courtyard and intimate restaurant, make it a great destination to spend a couple of hours.

Well made cocktails and an assortment of wines, spirits and beers are available at the bar any time of the day. The mix of dark teak benches and rattan cushioned armchairs ensure the garden provides a comfortable space for al fresco dining.

The restaurant believes in using seasonal and organic produce to create flavoursome dishes such as Morecombe Bay potted shrimps served with crusty farmhouse bread, and foie gras with duck liver parfait. Mains include such choices as char-grilled whole mackerel with roasted beetroot and horseradish as well as fresh pastas and risotto. Conclude proceedings with cheesecake and poached vanilla strawberries.

Grafton House Restaurant is a place I'd definitely be going back to. They serve lovely food, which is great value for money. I went with a group of friends and ordered from the a la carte menu - my steak was yummy. The staff were extremely attentive and polite, and the atmosphere was perfect. All in all, it was an excellent restaurant.

We were very impressed with the service; we had Sunday lunch for 15 with a number of small children. The staff were great and VERY patient, they heated up milk for baby's bottles and accommodated our endless requests. The Sunday roast was really disappointing though, the Yorkshire puddings and roasts were black and the veggies were also overcooked and tasteless. Even so we would highly recommend.
