Great Kathmandu Restaurant, The Description
In amongst a little hotbed of Nepalese restaurants Great Kathmandu is not called great for nothing. Superb value for food that is quite delicious, served with many smiles and has the longevity of an extensive fan club to prove it. All too often and for reasons that are usually unclear those who run restaurants reach a point where they honestly believe that the customer needs to be challenged. The result is inevitably disaster. At GK they have wisely taken the other course with the result that they have a thriving business and everyone is happy. A set lunch of four courses for £5.90 helps things along very well. Long may their papadums crackle.

The Kat, as this 20 year old Nepalese restaurant is affectionately known to its fan club, can certainly lay claim to that most difficult of accolades to bestow upon good restaurants - consistency. I have been dropping in now for over 14 years trying to catch them on a off day, and never managed it. Having worked in restaurants myself, I know keeping good staff over a long period of time is almost impossible. However this family run place keeps its staff and its regulars happy, so do yourself a favor and sample the lamb methi, aloo chilli, chicken macan or the fish tikka and you too may become one of the family - of regulars.

Totally fabulous, small but intimate place, really friendly staff and gorgeous food! Have been back, great every time!
