Green, The

The service was friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. We are going to make a return visit as there were too many tempting dishes that will have to be tried. The venison main course was tender and served rare. It was succulent and tender. We drank wine by the glass, as we were driving, and the house wines were superb. It was a lovely evening with fine wine and good food beautifully prepared, cooked and served. You can't ask for more - unreservedly recommended.

The Green is a great find - a welcoming atmosphere, great service and consistently good food. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Green to anyone. It is a busy and friendly restaurant where the members of staff really look after you. The menu is varied and changes regularly with the seasons. On my most recent visit, I enjoyed the beef carpaccio with Chinese spices and rocket salad to start, followed by perfectly cooked sea bass and I managed to fit in a delicious ginger trio - a mini ginger brulee, ginger jelly and ginger ice cream - delicious. Then with our coffee we enjoyed homemade dark chocolate and chilli truffles. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. If you are visiting Sherborne then The Green is the only place to go to eat.
