Greens Restaurant

I have been a huge fan of Greens for the past three years. I am not a vegetarian, but there it does not matter. To go to a restaurant owned by a celebrity chef, I was expecting to pay 'over the odds', but when I went I found all the food exceptional, along with the prices. I loved all of it. The bread and butter pudding was to die for.

I've been lucky enough to dine at Greens Restaurant twice now and on both occasions left there with a huge smile on my face. Perfect... the food was fantastic and very satisfying. I'm not vegetarian and have found that veggie dishes can sometimes be a little "lacking" in something but you won't have that problem here. The service was faultless, professional yet very friendly. I loved the fact that the restaurant is on the smaller size as it feels a lot more cosy and intimate than some huge place can.

I'm a bit of a fan of Simon Rimmer and took my cookbook in and asked if he could come and sign it for me if he wasn't too busy...which he did. Simon came to say hello and as we were between courses he took the time to sit and chat for a few minutes which made my evening complete.

The "deep fried shitake mushrooms with pancakes and plum sauce" was fab (along with everything else). I'd recommend everyone to go there... even those who hate the idea of veggie food, I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised.
