Greyhound, The Description
Now in the hands of top TV chef Antony Worrall Thompson, the Greyhound moves steadily on. The rather cramped dining room in the barn has not changed but then neither has the excellent cooking, very British in style and clearly one of the main attractions of this picturesque pub by its small pool.
The Greyhound specialises in grilled meats and fish - serving only the best quality food cooked as simply as possible. Try their aged-Scottish beef, hung for 35 days for extra flavour, or their own succulent Middle White pigs and tender Ark chickens - bred for a 100 days for tenderness and flavour.
In total there are sixty covers in the restaurant, but it benefits also by being able to seat a further thirty customers on the patio and sixty more in the garden.

This is a quaint old pub serving good beer. The staff were pleasant and served us well but I was surprised that we were not asked if we wanted vegetables. The avocado starter was well presented and yummy. We were disappointed with the mains as the portions were small. I had a mixed grill because I was hungry and the biggest item on the plate was the bacon, everything else was small with very little garnish. The same with the duck though it was delicious. The fillet of bass was really flaky. I think the atmosphere would be better in the evening with the candles lit as they would add real charm to the place. All in all the quality of the food was good but the portions were very small.

We took my Mother to the Greyhound for a special birthday. The staff were fantastic, the food great, amazing atmosphere created by the lovely staff. Highly recommended. My Mother had a very special day! Thanks to all at The Greyhound.
