Ha Ha Bar & Grill - O2 Description

Ha! Ha! Bar and Grill presents diners with tasty fare in informal and comfortable surroundings. Their food is prepared using high quality, seasonal produce with a focus on sourcing British ingredients. An experience there is not limited to good dishes and service, also on offer are what they call 'tracklements', ingredients used in cooking, and even finished products like chocolate brownies, presented at your table and available for sale.

The menu has something for everyone including the most food savvy diner, with an array of meat, fish and pasta dishes. Although the layout and décor of the twenty-four outlets vary, the open kitchen plan in each location allows diners to see and smell the food they are about to eat.

The chef recommends starting with Gorgonzola stuffed pasta coated in tomato and basil sauce topped with shavings of parmesan, followed by a main course of chicken chorizo with butternut squash on a bed of summer leaves with red pepper, fennel squash and a pomegranate orange sauce.

Ha! Ha! have an impressive list of smooth clingy and icy cold wines along with fizzy drinks that enhance the experience. In fact, they take such joy in finding the right wines that they have an interactive website that invites guests to find their favourite options and also offer expert advice.

An impressive wine list of smooth clingy reds, icy cold whites and the indulgence of fizz also enhances the experience. Ha! Ha! take such joy in finding the right wines, that their website has an interactive section that invites guests to match food with wine, and offers expert advice on the best options.

You could wind up a meal in style with the aptly titled cheeky pudding with Belgium chocolate mocha torte served with a garnish of fresh cream and strawberries or settle for the freshly ground coffee that they take great pride in serving throughout the day.

Your Reviews of Ha Ha Bar & Grill - O2

Robert Falconer (10 February 2008)

A group of eight of us booked a meal here for 8pm on Saturday 9 Feb 2008. We arrived on time and had a 10 minute wait for our table. When it was ready, the manageress, instead of showing us to our table, merely waved her arm and said, “Your table is down there”.

After our order was taken, by an absolutely charming waiter, we were informed that there would be a forty minute delay due to a problem in the kitchen. We asked to see the manageress and suggested that suitable compensation for the delay would be a plate of nibbles, as we were all ravenous. She repeated three times that she could not provide this as, if she did, she would also have to give the same to every table in the restaurant, which wasn’t actually very full. Without warning, she produced two plates of olives, 6 slices of bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar dip with bad grace. As there were eight of us in the party, we asked if it would be possible to have another two slices of bread. She replied that they only came in packs of six. She produced the bread anyway again with bad grace.

Our food arrived over one hour after our order though it was absolutely delicious and the service from our waiter was exemplary. After the meal, we got into conversation with some other customers and they were equally dissatisfied with the service they had had.

As we were leaving, the doorman asked if we had had a good evening. We recounted our experience with the manageress and we were informed that this particular lady had upset most of the staff that evening as well. I’m afraid we won’t be returning to this particular restaurant and it is a pity that one bad apple can cause so much damage to a restaurant that deserves better.

They offer good friendly service at reasonable prices, and good food in pleasant surroundings.
