Hakkasan Restaurant Description

Hakkasan is a fascinating twist on Chinese restaurants from Wagamama founder Alan Yau. Forget the fast and affordable approach of Wagamama, here you'll find the one of the capital's chicest restaurants, designed by interiors guru Christian Liagre with uniforms from Hussein Chalayan and Ozwald Boateng. Just as much care is taken over the food with dishes such as stir-fried ostrich with preserved red rice or dried scallop, winter melon and bamboo pith soup; whilst their excellent dim sum are recommended at lunchtime. Just be sure to wear something trendy if you don't want to stick out like a sore thumb.

In 2004 Hakkasan was the winner of Oriental Restaurant of the Year in the ITV London Restaurant Awards (formerly the Carlton London Restaurant Awards).

Your Reviews of Hakkasan Restaurant

Possollo (3 October 2007)

Hakkasan is a curious and rare place. I had dinner there four or five times over the past three years.

Food: Seldom you find an out of the ordinary and innovative/fusion Chinese restaurant, where you taste different and refreshing food. Not to miss by any means if you visit London and fancy fusion food. Try the Hakka cocktail, the duck salad, the dim sum platter and the Baltic crab. They are all delicious as are the other items on the menu.

Service:

Service overall is good, but has been slowly deteriorating over the past three years

This is a noisy and bubbly place and I like the decor. Not good for a quiet night out.

I went there just last week when I was in London visiting my friend Tunde. It was my first time at the restaurant, got to say that the food was good. We ordered so much that didn’t finish it..:( the dim sum was good, I love the rice pudding....oh gosh!!!! So make sure when u go, leave some room for desert. Tunde ordered the chocolate and bananas I think. the best!!!

Very stylish....though if u want to go must book in advance like 3 days ahead??!!! We booked a day ahead and got table for 11:45 pm, but then Tunde's manager rebooked and got for 9:00. So.........what I’m trying to say is this is a restaurant where you want to be seen if you are someone.......make an entrance. Wear your newest Pradas, Diors........and leave some space for dessert!!! Ill definitely pop by next time I go to London..:)
