I cannot remember how many years I've dined at this little hole-in-the-wall cafe, but I would venture to say it's been for at least twenty-five years. I live on the northeast side of the city and I'm surrounded by cafes, taquerias and Mexican restaurants, large and small, but I drive all the way to the Jefferson area just to dine on Tony's migas plate. I found what I was looking for and that is ‘my usual,’ I tried the migas at the Blanco Cafe and they used fritos instead of corn tortillas. I've tried migas elsewhere, but Tony's migas are superior to everyone else and his are simply the best! Hungry? Try his ‘Super D’ tacos, one of his other specialties and only order two if you're starving. The cafe is small and cozy, but Tony and Ana make everyone feel at home, like dining at their kitchen table. Other folks are so friendly, that I have struck up conversations with many folks who were strangers when I passed through the front door. Long wait line? Just ask another patron if you may join his table. Great food, wonderful owners, and many satisfied patrons. If you've never dined there, make it soon.
