Hampshire at Crondall, The Description
Situated in the village of Crondall, near Farnham, The Hampshire is a lovingly restored pub and restaurant with wooden and tiled floors, an open fire and some of Hampshire's finest food. So if you're driving around Crondall and looking for a place to enjoy tasty food and drink, head to Pankridge Street. Sunday afternoons are perfect to catch up over traditional roasts or a ploughman's while on other days, the British gastropub menu pleases most customers.
Order for salads and light bites in the beer garden or the deck when the weather is fine, or enjoy comfort food of bangers and mash or game pies in the comfort of the pub when it's raining and cold. Dishes such as home-smoked salmon, saddle of hare, and haunch of venison are all created from fresh and locally sourced meat and fish.
Family favourites of knickerbocker glory, marshmallow or popcorn ice cream and the availability of smaller portions for younger diners make the pub a lovely place to bring the family.
Real ales and New and Old World wines are always available.
Your Reviews of Hampshire at Crondall, The
Andy (28 May 2009)
We went with a group of friends to try the feasting menu - great concept. Once we found the place in Crondall, I have to say we were made to feel very welcome. The atmosphere was great and the food was great – venison and whole sea trout. The place holds wine tasting and jazz on occasions, the garden is big, we will be going back soon. Well worth checking this one out.
Farnham Customer (14 May 2009)
We have now been to the Hampshire on three occasions, and I have to say the place has a great vibe. We’ve been there on a Sunday, spent several hours relaxing in the garden with what has to be one of the best roast dinners available for miles. We’ve also just popped in for a drink and Simon has made us feel very welcome, the wine is great and although we don’t drink beer they have local stuff on, which did impress us. Anyway last night was a jazz evening Wednesday with great music and food. I had a lemon sole with cockles and my hubby had what he said was the best steak he had had for years. I'm not sure if the previous person’s comments were about the new owners or about this year, but it is one of the best places we have been to for ages and do go – it’s real, the food is something else with some pretty unusual stuff on offer as well. We really think it has good vibe. 8.5 out of 10 from us and other places locally haven’t scored more than a 7 in the last year or two. Check them out. Sam and Steve.
