Situated at the heart of London's Theatreland, Radisson Edwardian Hampshire Hotel is a Leicester Square landmark and an ideal refuge from the buzz of activity around the place. The Hampshire Bar and Restaurant brings together classicism and modernism and the design elements are a harmony of rich mahogany panelling, pale raffia wall coverings, animal prints and Morosso high backed chairs.
The kitchen focuses on British and Mediterranean cuisine and there are familiar dishes like scallops served in their shell with garlic butter, and 10oz rare breed pork cutlet with braised cabbage and grain mustard sauce, alongside their innovative counterparts such as baked white onion soup with puff pastry crust, and pan seared Grimsby cod fillet in a light beer broth with clams. At dessert time experience the flavour of vanilla and grapefruit intermingling in the set custard, or cider cream adding a bit of lightness to an apple tart.
