Hansa's

Established in 1986, Hansa's is a charming vegetarian restaurant serving home-cooked Gujarati cuisine. Set in central Leeds, the family-run restaurant has a welcoming, homely atmosphere, while the kitchen uses a subtle blend of aromatic spices to enhance it's mainly vegan dishes.

Gujarat is a state in Western India and is roughly the same size as the UK. It has extreme climates which influence the cuisine considerably, as fresh vegetables are scarce during the harsh summer months. Gujarati cuisine therefore, specialises in supplementing vegetables with sprouts, dry beans and lentils all cooked creatively and enticingly.

Hansa's offers several versions of the set meal to suit varying group sizes. There are also a lot of snacks or sides which can be combined into a meal. The meal arrayed in a large plate or thali, with small helpings in individual bowls is a treat to the eye as well as the palate. The indigenous desserts offer a peek into new flavours and tastes.
