Harlequin Restaurant
Kingsway Hall Hotel, 66 Great Queen Street, London, WC2B 5BX
Kingsway Hall is a four-star luxury hotel that is well sited for those who'd like to explore some famous landmarks in London and end their day on a buoyant note with a meal at Harlequin Restaurant before retiring in one of their comfortable bedrooms. The large and airy dining area can accommodate up to 150 people and its location near West End makes this a well-liked spot for pre-theatre dining. The menu lists an abundance of modern British dishes that reveal what is in season, such as roast breast of pigeon, endive and herb salad with walnut and sherry vinegar dressing and horseradish crisps, and seared loin of venison with celeriac puree, creamed Savoy cabbage and tarragon jus. If you feel strongly about seafood then consider a teriyaki style salmon on a bed of spiced noodles and steamed pak choi, or grilled fillet of hake.Kingsway Hall is a four-star luxury hotel that is well sited for those who'd like to explore some famous landmarks in London and end their day on a buoyant note with a meal at Harlequin Restaurant before retiring in one of their comfortable bedrooms. REVIEWS OF Harlequin Restaurant
French lovers (4 February 2010)
Really nice place and the service is attentive. Definitely a must and we might come back for Valentines!
DB (17 February 2009)
We booked a table for Valentine's Day and they really did not disappoint. From the very friendly welcome when we arrived, about 15 minutes late, to the chocolates as we left the restaurant almost last - the service was faultless. The special was a four course meal and the food was fantastic. Our starters of mushroom soup with truffle oil and samosa with apple-celery raita were just right portion wise and tasted good. Course two was a champagne sorbet - fantastic for cleansing the palate again, very tasty. Our mains were really, really nice - Pollack with pancetta and white beans, chicken in tangier sauce with cous cous. Portion sizes were good; the food was hot and very well presented. Dessert did not disappoint either with strawberry fool with homemade shortbread and sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce. We just about had the room. The whole set up was lovely - silver stars sprinkled on the table; a near perfect red rose in the vase; well lit so as to promote some intimacy without stumbling about in the dark and staff who thought carefully about when to interrupt, apologised for even the slightest delay and seemed happy to serve you - something that seems to be a bit of a premium these days. At £25 per head with a glass of wine - this was definitely the way to do credit crunch Valentine's! We were sold and will definitely go back on a bog standard non Valentiney-type day.
