Harrison's

15-19 Bedford Hill, London, SW12 9EX

Comfy and casually elegant, Harrison's in Balham extends a warm welcome to all its guests, and since its opening in 2007 has evolved into a perennial meeting place for friends, business associates and others. The brasserie menu is solidly British and unfussy, though with a few pleasant twists, as the deep fried baby squid rings with spicy anchovy mayonnaise on the starters will prove. Don't miss the enormous cheese burger with house chutney and fries or the tuna burger with glass noodle salad if you're ravenous. The children's menu has time tested classics such as shepherd's pie, pastas and cheeseburgers to satisfy hunger pangs of the little ones. Sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream and caramel sauce is an apt choice to end the meal.

Really fantastic meal on Saturday evening, great service, it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
