Harry's

41 Church Road, Brighton, BN3 2BE

Harry's English Restaurant was established in 1990 as an alternative to the endless stream of Pasta and Indian restaurants in Hove. It is an independently owned and run family business. The kitchen is run by the owner Harry Lees and chef Claire Nichols, who have both been there since the day the doors opened. They proudly say that were trained by the greatest chefs of the time - their Mums! As much as possible all ingredients are sourced locally on a daily basis, and the food has a basic honesty to it with dishes such as char-grilled steak, bangers and mash, steak, kidney and mushroom pie and good fresh fish, while daily specials reflect the best seasonal produce. Great care has been taken to ensure the menu appeals to all tastes with vegetarians and children catered for.

REVIEWS OF Harry's

The Potters, Kaz and Shaun (23 May 2011)

My husband and I called in on Sunday in May 2011 after going to Brighton for weekend for our anniversary. First, it was a great way to end the weekend and the second one was to set us up for our journey back to home, Chelmsford, Essex. We were greeted by a very friendly face and were shown to our table. The smells were mouth watering - a lot of exquisite dishes to choose from - ranging from light bites to full English. Then don’t get me started on the tempting dishes that were offered for lunch. My husband stated that his cappuccino was to die for scooping up the fluffy white foam. He ordered full English breakfast with black pudding. I went for egg Florentine, and I can’t find the words to describe the amazing flavours of my dish. Being a trained chef if I turned out the flavour and dished what was being turned out I would be well proud. I would highly recommend to everyone who goes to Brighton - visit Harry's.

I have eaten at Harry's several times. What a great restaurant, staff have always been helpful, cheerful and welcoming, food has always been great - they are very generous with portions. Their burgers are to die for!
