Everybody speaks well of Hees, though there are some suggestions, not supported here, that it is a touch expensive. For those to whom the sheer pain of wading through an admirably extensive menu is just too much after a stressful day, there is a good range of well-priced Chinese feasts. The Szechuan, for instance, involves bang bang chicken, crispy lamb, crispy aromatic duck, Hung po chilli prawn, sea spice chicken shreds, beef with green peppers in black sauce, four vegetables, yeung chow fried rice and a toffee apple. There have to be three of you to justify this expansive outlay. A good range of bottled beers and a wine list which offers adequate choice.Chinese

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic meal here. From the outside, it looks rather dated and unappealing. However, it is deceptively large and pleasant inside. The service was first rate, from the moment we sat down. Diners have a choice of several 'feasts' each comprising of about six different dishes or you can opt for a regular three course meal. We opted for a Szechuan feast. The battered king prawns and crispy duck were memorable. Overall, it is pricey by local standards at around £20-25 per head excluding drinks; however you get what you pay for. This is quality worth every pound.

Hees is the best Chinese I have been to. The food is amazing. The inside décor could be refreshed but it makes no difference in the evening when the lights are low. The set menus I think are good value.
