Henderson's Description

Established in 1962, Henderson's is now a sort of local legend, thanks to their unswerving commitment to promote healthy eating. The setting at this café-cum-restaurant is informal and friendly with musicians playing every night in the candle-lit cellar dining area.

In addition to healthy hot dishes like vegetarian haggis, Moroccan stew and nut loaf there are over a dozen freshly prepared salads, breads, scones, oatcakes and sweets all made in house. Drinks include freshly squeezed juices, twenty teas, Scottish beers and 15 organic wines.

Above the restaurant is a vibrant deli selling products from the Henderson's kitchens and their craft bakery, as well as offering a range of drinks and snacks. Finally there is the magical Henderson Art Gallery and events space showing the best in contemporary arts. The famous Edinburgh Fringe and International Arts Festival has drawn visitors from around the world to Henderson's for over 40 years.

This is a lovely, friendly, surprisingly large restaurant perfect for families, couples, groups or any informal dining. The menu is imaginative and extensive. A great choice of fresh juices, teas and alcoholic tipples! Brilliant!
