Proprietors Paul Smith, Kevin James and chef Richard Phillips have carefully nurtured the dining experience by renovating this building to provide an atmosphere of warm elegance. A stately entrance welcomes guests and is complemented by the cosy intimacy of the main dining hall and the charm of the individual private dining areas - the crystal room and the Japanese room.

Chicken liver parfait with cured ham accompanied by homemade piccalilli, marinated celeriac with grain mustard, grilled garlic ciabatta followed by a roast rump of new season 'Romney Marsh' lamb are good picks among the starters and the mains. A sticky toffee pudding or an apple tart could help finish the meal. The wine list contains a selection of both old and new World wines.
