Heritage Diner of Mount Sinai, The

The Heritage Diner is a restaurant brimming with memories, housed in a building that originally served diners in Long Island under the Paramount Diner name; it was dismantled and transported in pieces to its current location in Mount Sinai. Now it's well laid out with stylish décor enlivened with light streaming in from the large glass doors.

On the menu the signature Heritage biscuit syrup sandwich is a warm biscuit cut in half, dipped in syrup and filled with bacon, egg and cheese, while the weight watchers could choose oatmeal and strawberries, banana and low fat yogurt and turkey egg white omelet. The impressive dinner roster includes coconut crusted crab cakes topped with roasted corn and black bean salsa, chicken cordon bleu, broiled pork chops and steak teriyaki. Elsewhere on the carte you'd find appetizers, pancakes, French toast, mini soup combos, burgers, sandwiches and salads, all hugely satisfying, rounded off with apple cobbler or chocolate mousse tart for dessert.
