Hill, The Description
This Michelin Pub Guide recognized gem lies just between Chalk Farm and Belsize Park tube stations on Haverstock Hill. This multi-concept restaurant and bar provides a chilled out relaxing atmosphere during the daytime; with bar snacks, brunch menu and a lunch menu available along with coffee, newspapers and wireless internet available.
In the evening as the bar area fills with regular clientele including celebrities such as Sadie Frost, Chris Evans, Orlando Bloom and Liam and Noel Gallagher (to name a few!) the night-time ambience is created; the lights are dimmed, the background, funky yet unobtrusive music, and the decadent Parisian décor shines to its best potential.
Designed by Christopher Boutler (Crown Commissioners/ English Heritage) he introduced plush dining seating, rich colours, gilded mirrors, comfy lounge style seating and an abundance of chandeliers. Recently the bar was voted in the top 300 in the world, partly due to the exclusive wine and champagne list and seasonally changing cocktail menu served by friendly well-trained staff in a great atmosphere.
The menu changes on a regular basis to enable the Head Chef to use the freshest of seasonal ingredients and to keep the menu appealing to their many regular guests. Dishes include grilled goat's cheese on crostini with oven dried plum tomato and raspberry and lychee dressing or the popular classic 21 day aged Highland rib eye with straw chips, Béarnaise sauce, oven roasted plum tomato and mushroom.
Guests can make the most of dining al fresco in the heated, secluded garden. Private dining is also available for up to 200 guests, children are welcome and Sunday roast dinners are also on offer.

Your Reviews of Hill, The
James (25 October 2007)
The Hill is a pleasure to visit compared to the other pubs and restaurants in Belsize Park. Friendly, down to earth staff without an attitude, great food, a really relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and music make it great at this time of year especially. We regularly visit for the beef fillet and to share a top of the list bottle of pinot noir.
John (23 February 2007)
My colleagues and I went for drinks and dinner here the other evening. I must express that we were most disgusted with the service from a gentlemen working behind the bar, who made us feel rather uncomfortable and slightly intimidated. The manor in which he served us and other costumers was not something we would have expected in a classy establishment as such, and we felt as if we had just stepped into comedy camp. However we had an enjoyable evening and the food was delicious.
