I've been dining at Hop and Spice for a while and felt that it's high time I praise this Sri Lankan gem. It's my first exposure to food from Ceylon, and I've loved every bit of it. They serve food a bit like tapas, so you can choose three to four dishes each. The new shrimp curry is deliciously rich, and the butternut squash is a great blend of sweet and spice. I think they’ve got some great speciality dishes and the best biryani I've ever had. The service is great, the prices are reasonable, and the place looks very different. On Mother's Day we tried their extraordinarily good Sunday roast - a traditional joint, marinated in spices and served with all the trimmings, including optional chilli gravy. All in all, a fantastic local eatery - highly recommended.
