The Corn Exchange building was once a place where farmers and merchants traded cereal grains, but with the Host Restaurant and Bar located in the front, the clamour of the traders is now replaced with the clinking of cutlery and somewhat calmer conversation. The décor is all brown and minimalist with features like exposed brick walls that lend an air of originality. Start with chicken liver and foie gras parfait with apple and grape chutney and toasted brioche, creamy pea and ham soup with crispy bacon, or tempura marlin served with a chilli dressing. The Host recently did all the outside catering for our daughter's wedding which was held in a large marquee for 150 guests. The food was superb and service excellent - we could not fault anything at all. We have had a lot of feedback from all guests commenting on the food quality and lovely staff. We would like to thank all concerned for making the day so special. We would highly recommend Host to anyone organising a function like this. Lucy was so approachable at all times.

My husband and I took friends to Host on Saturday evening as we really like the restaurant and thankfully they didn’t let us down. We had a fabulous meal and our friends were totally impressed. Thanks to the all staff and chefs at Host. Keep up the good work!
