House, The

Part of Barnaby Meridith's mini pub empire, The House is keen on providing a relaxed yet elegant experience with fresh food and warm hospitality; it should come as no surprise that they enjoy faithful and regular support from diners at Islington. The interior is cosy with an open fireplace and comfortable sofas, and on days when the weather doesn't play spoilsport, dining on the terrace is an interesting alternative.

With Jeremy Hollingsworth at the helm, the kitchen is keen on keeping things perky and exciting. Jeremy brings a wealth of culinary experience from restaurants such as Quo Vadis and the result is a host of tasty, satisfying dishes. The à la carte features some comforting classics like The House shepherd's pie, smoked chicken and roast garlic terrine, and chateaubriand with onion rings, mixed beans, pommes Anna and summer truffle jus, for two to share. A Jaffa cake tower for dessert is not to be missed, or choose from a selection of homemade ice creams and sorbets.
