Howards Restaurant Description
Howard's Restaurant is a well-tried and tested location on the Bristol scene, though not always that easy to find for some - if lost, head for SS Great Britain and not far away on the dockside Howard's awaits. Business lunches sit comfortably with more romantic liaisons, especially in the evenings, all enjoying the traditional dishes that grace a menu that is as generous as the portions and prices. Particularly notable are the fresh fish offerings, often listed amongst the blackboard specials, and an ever changing menu finds favour with the regulars for whom Howard's is a haven of cosy stability. However, for those who enjoy such comforting items as rhubarb and ginger crumble there is something to be said for regularity. House wine at £10.25 is supported by a list which accommodates most tastes within the £20 benchmark.

Howards used to be one of my favourites, but after three consecutive poor experiences, we have finally decided to pull the plug.
Slow service, overcooked sea bass, raw lamb. Even when cooked well, the quality barely justifies the high prices. The Lockside and Demi Leune around the corners are now offering far better value and consistency.

With a fantastic service and mouth watering food, we had a fabulous meal on my thirtieth birthday. The pan fried calves liver was perfectly cooked and it melted in my mouth.
