Thank God things have changed for the better, and today, the Grade II listed building is a stylish and intimate vaulted restaurant called Iberico World Tapas. In the elegant interior of this tapas bar, the refined ingredients of world cooking hold hands with the rustic simplicity of Spanish tapas to give diners an exhilarating dining experience.

So you could relax on chocolate and cream leather seats and feast on delicacies created by the same team that gave Nottingham the well-known World Service Restaurant. The menu opens with cheeses from Spain and the rest of the world before it offers a selection of charcuterie such as Spanish Serrano, Salchicon, chorizo, and finnochiona.

The meat section comes next, where slow-cooked ox cheek and saddle of rabbit compete with chicken liver parfait, and crispy free-range pork belly. Fish lovers will rejoice with a simple lime, salt and pepper squid while vegetarians can enjoy tortillas or pine nut risotto.
