Incognico

117 Shaftesbury Avenue, Cambridge Circus, London, WC2H 8AD

That man Nico Ladenis is truly amazing; no sooner has he handed back the three Michelin stars for his flagship 'cheznico' than he opened Incognico , though it was initially run by his talented daughter Natasha; sadly the family are not involved any longer, though the stamp of quality that they gave to it remains. The place was restfully designed by David Collins, the most popular restaurant designer in London. The menu reflects a return to culinary simplicity, familiar dishes, executed perfectly, using the best quality ingredients, more brasserie style than high class restaurant; standards are extremely high, everything is put together flawlessly, and the concentration is on the intensity of flavours with essentially straightforward food.

Some of their notable dishes include seared king scallops with pea shoots salad and balsamic vinaigrette; pappardelle with ham and crispy parmesan, or roast fillet of pork with caponata and fresh marjoram.

Musical cocktails will certainly stoke the curiosity of cocktail lovers, so go on and try Hair Spray, Blood Brothers or Stomp.

REVIEWS OF Incognico

Steve Lim (17 May 2007)

Always have a good meal there. Food is well presented and always of high standard. The crab and advocado is a must, the fish dishes are as special and the veal milanese is second to none. To accompany the meal are the BEST fried courgettes in town.

Neil Gourgey (30 March 2006)

I was invited to Incognico by a friend, it's not normally the sort of restaurant I would go to judging by the review on this website. However, I was very surprised. The food was spectacular as was the service. Our bill was nearer £30 a head including wine and I will be returning. Sensational.
