Indigo at The Ardington Hotel Description

Centrally located on the Eastern side of Steyne Gardens, just off the sea-front and a stone's-throw from the pier, Indigo is the only restaurant in Worthing to have been awarded an AA Rosette for its food for the past eight years. Recently completely refurbished, Indigo offers a contemporary and relaxing environment, the interior is spacious and airy, flooded with light and coloured with soft blues and browns, while original artwork and photography adorn the walls.

You can have your pre-lunch or dinner drinks in their lounge bar and after your meal again settle back in a comfy sofa, read the papers or simply relax and watch the world go by.

Dishes on their dinner menu might include spring vegetable soup, parmesan croutons; juicy mussels in a Thai spice and coconut broth or a warm potato and goats cheese terrine, tomato chutney, rocket salad. With main courses like seared Cornish tuna, quail egg, olive and potato cake; chargrilled fillet of English lamb, herb potato, aubergine compote, and, for vegetarians, a butternut squash, wild garlic and oregano risotto.

However, they are renowned for their puddings, so keep some room to fit those in, led by a wonderful spring rhubarb crème brûlée or a banana and passion fruit sorbet.

As might be expected from where they are by the sea, they also offer delicious fresh fish specials daily, such as grilled whole seabass stuffed with lemongrass and pickled ginger or grilled local lobster, lemon herb butter, new potatoes and salad. while their magnificent seafood platter to share is almost a meal in itself - rock oysters, mussels, marinated anchovies, smoked salmon, seared king scallops, king prawns.

They offer a children's menu with many organic dishes and always have on hand a supply of highchairs, booster seats, children's cutlery and cups. During school holidays they often have special magical children's lunches where parents and children are entertained at their table by a magician.

It is worth noting that if you dine with them you can have all day car parking at the High Street NCP car park for the significantly reduced amount of £3.25 for 24 hours.

Your Reviews of Indigo at The Ardington Hotel

Helen (25 September 2008)

I think they serve beautiful food but this is spoilt by the terrible service.

Fiona (2 June 2008)

Before I came across Indigo at the Ardington Hotel, I thought finding a really good restaurant in Worthing can be something of a challenge. Three of us had a really enjoyable meal there on Sunday, which started off with a drink in their stylish bar area. The menu had several dishes and it was difficult to choose – this is always a good sign. The food itself was well thought out, beautifully cooked and presented, with highly professional, yet friendly service. An interesting, good yet well priced wine list featured some English wines, but we went for one of our favourites - Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. We will definitely return.
